Hi @Mamtaattri,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP laptop isn’t turning on despite being plugged in for a long time, try these steps to troubleshoot.

Check Power Supply: Ensure that the power adapter is firmly connected to both the laptop and the wall outlet. Try using a different outlet or adapter if available.

Inspect the Charging Port and Cable: Look for any visible damage on the charging port or cable. Sometimes, a damaged port or cable can prevent the laptop from receiving power.

Perform a Hard Reset:

  • Disconnect the power adapter and remove the battery (if removable).
  • Press and hold the power button for about 15-20 seconds.
  • Reconnect the battery and power adapter, then try turning on the laptop.

Check for LED Indicators: Look for any LED lights on the laptop when you press the power button. This can provide clues about the issue (e.g., a blinking light might indicate a hardware problem).

Try a Different Power Adapter: If possible, use a different compatible power adapter to see if the issue is with the original adapter.

Remove External Devices: Disconnect any peripherals (USB devices, external hard drives, etc.) and try to power on the laptop.

Check for Overheating: Ensure the laptop isn’t overheating. If it’s too hot, let it cool down before attempting to power it on.

Perform a Battery Reset:

  • With the power adapter disconnected and the battery removed, hold the power button for 15-20 seconds.
  • Reconnect the battery and power adapter, then try turning on the laptop.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
