My laptop lags very badly when not plugged in.Normally i would play with no problem when the laptop its plugged in but after i unplug it even with full battery the laptop lags and it becomes unplayable. Other apps still work fine like web browsers, adobe etc, I also hear a sound when the laptop its plugged in and I'm playing. When i unplug it the sound disappears and the game start to lag.Is it normal?

Hello RobertZuduluf

IF you are talking about gaming, then yes this is normal. The system is trying to conserve battery power and throttles the cpu/gpu. You can set the Nvidia power settings Power Management Mode to "Prefere maximum performance", but it will still not perform as well as when plugged in.

HP recommends gaming plugged in anyways. This will reduce the battery recycles and prolong its end of life.

Hope this answers your question.

The battery cannont provide enough power to the chips to do high performance tasks like gaming. Some older games may run well on battery power but most new games require too much from the chips and thus the chips need a suffiecent power source to run the task.

Sorry. I thought the same thing when I first gamed on a laptop. We havent got that advanced in technology yet. You will need to plug up for those AAA games and other programs that demand alot of power. The battery just doesnt have enough.

For me it lags when I am plugged in, and works smoothy when I'm not!
