Try these steps to troubleshoot the issue:
  1. Check the battery status:

    • Go to the Control Panel and select "Power Options."
    • Check the battery status and see if it's fully charged or not.
  2. Restart the laptop and check again:

    • Restart the laptop and see if it starts charging.
    • If it still doesn't work, then try the next step.
  3. Update the BIOS:

    • Go to the HP support website.
    • Enter your laptop's model number and download the latest version of BIOS.
    • Follow the instructions to install the updated BIOS.
  4. Check the power source:

    • Make sure that the power source you're using is working properly.
    • Try using a different power source to see if the problem still persists.
  5. Reset the power management settings:

    • Go to the Control Panel and select "Power Options."
    • Click on "Choose what the power buttons do."
    • Click on "Change settings that are currently unavailable."
    • Scroll down and uncheck the "Turn on fast startup" option.
    • Save changes and restart your laptop.

If the above steps don't help, you may have a hardware issue and need to take your laptop to a professional for repair.
