Hi @Cipher1,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I'm sorry to hear about the issues with your HP Omen 16 laptop. The combination of a stopped battery calibration process and unexpected BIOS update might have led to the problem you're experiencing. Here’s a detailed troubleshooting guide to help you address the issue:

1. Basic Checks

Check Power Connection:

  • Ensure the power adapter is securely connected to both the laptop and the power outlet.
  • Verify that the power outlet is functioning by testing it with another device.

Inspect the Power Adapter:

  • Check if the power adapter is working properly. Look for any visible damage or loose connections.

Perform a Hard Reset:

  • Disconnect the power adapter and remove the battery (if removable).
  • Press and hold the power button for about 15-30 seconds to discharge any residual power.
  • Reconnect the power adapter (without the battery if removable) and try powering on the laptop.

2. Check for Battery and Charging Issues

Reinstall Battery (if removable):

  • If your laptop has a removable battery, reinstall it carefully.
  • Ensure the battery is seated properly and try powering on the laptop again.

Check Battery Status:

  • If the battery was in the process of calibration and the calibration was interrupted, it might cause temporary issues. In some cases, reinstallation or a power reset might help.

3. Attempt to Enter BIOS or Recovery Mode

Try BIOS Access:

  • Power on the laptop and repeatedly press the BIOS access key (usually F2, F10, F12, or ESC) immediately after pressing the power button.
  • If you can access BIOS, it indicates that the system is at least partially functional.

Attempt Recovery Mode:

  • If the laptop does not power on normally, try accessing recovery mode by holding down the Power button for about 10-15 seconds or pressing specific recovery keys (varies by model).

4. Perform a BIOS Recovery

HP BIOS Recovery:

  • Some HP laptops have a BIOS recovery option that can be accessed via a combination of keys. Refer to your laptop’s manual for specific instructions on performing a BIOS recovery.

Create BIOS Recovery Media:

  • If you can access another working computer, you might be able to create BIOS recovery media if your laptop supports it.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
