OMEN by HP 17-cb0056tx
Microsoft Windows 11

So, I have an omen 17 and it runs rather hot while gaming most games run (in celcius) about mid to high 80's into low 90's but mass effect andromeda runs at high 90's even hitting 100 on occasion. I had the undervolting auto set to .095 and it worked great games in the 70's ME:A high 70's into 80's, but recently I got a "plunderware" warning on the undervolt section of gaming hub and cannot undervolt anymore so temps have gone up again. Im worried that the high temps will kill my machine. It recently went into a stage where if if got too hot the CPU would drop to 800mhz and only a system restore or windows reset would fix it. then after a few months of this mode, windows corrupted and I had to pay to have it repaired, at this point I'm not overly happy with this pc.

@jscuz

HP Omen machines have better soldering technique which allows they can run over 90°C BUT not so long period. Please keep your machine to run under 80°C or 85°C. Winter is around but you may keep your room temperature 20°C-25°C or so therefore a cooling pad may help.

There are many cooling pads around, please check following reviews

So to summarize your reply, your basically saying my HP omen 17 Gaming Laptop, is not "really" a gaming laptop or at least not an efficient one. Bit of a bummer as It was rather expensive.

Same issue here but with an Omen HP 15-dh0005la. Temperatures drastically increased after undervolting tab was disabled from gaming hub making the laptop almost useless.

I just read about two solutions 1) PowerMonkey  UEFI Application and 2) using a ch341a spi programmer with a soic8 test clip. But imo this only might work for advanced users and is not safe to try. We need a fix for this "plundervolting warning" because cool ambience temps or even repasting won't fix the issue.
