Suddenly my camera was undetected. It was just working fine the other day. But from time to time after installing and re-installing driver then restarting my device camera seems to function well at first then go back to the same issue again.

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

 

Check Privacy Settings

Go to: Settings > Privacy > Camera

Make sure "Camera access for this device" is turned on.

Also, ensure individual apps (e.g., Zoom, Camera app) have access.

 

Reinstall the Camera Driver Cleanly

Press Win + X > Device Manager

Expand Imaging Devices or Cameras

Right-click your camera > Uninstall device

Check the box to Delete the driver software if prompted

Reboot your laptop

Windows should reinstall the correct driver automatically. If it doesn't:

Go to HP’s support site > input your model > download the Camera Driver or the relevant webcam driver.

 

BIOS & System Updates

Reboot into BIOS (F10 at startup)

Under Advanced or Built-in Device Options, ensure Camera is enabled

Also check for BIOS updates via HP Support Assistant
