@manu_bhaiya00, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand that your Victus by HP Gaming Laptop 15-fa1xxx is experiencing reduced battery life from around 7 hours previously to just 3 hours now. Let’s work through some steps to help improve your battery performance.
Check Battery Health
- Press F2 while starting your laptop to enter HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI.
- Select Component Tests > Power > Battery.
- Run the Battery Check and note the results.
Alternatively, you can use HP Support Assistant:
- Download or open it from here: HP Support Assistant
- Go to Battery Check under the Battery tab.
If the battery status shows “Replace,” it may be time for a battery replacement.
Update BIOS and Drivers
Outdated BIOS or drivers can affect power management.
- Visit the HP Software and Driver Downloads.
- Enter your product: Victus by HP 15-fa1000 (9P833AV)
- Download and install the latest:
- BIOS
- Chipset drivers
- Graphics drivers
- HP System Event Utility
Optimize Battery Settings
Windows 10 has built-in tools to help extend battery life.
- Go to Settings > System > Power & sleep > Additional power settings
- Select HP Recommended or Power Saver plan.
- Under Battery settings, enable Battery Saver mode when battery is below 20%.
Also, reduce screen brightness and close background apps when not needed.
Check Background Processes
Too many apps running in the background can drain your battery.
- Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager
- Go to the Startup tab and disable unnecessary apps
- Under Processes, check for high CPU/GPU usage apps and close them if not needed
Calibrate the Battery (Optional)
Battery calibration can help the system better estimate battery life.
- Charge the battery to 100%, then let it discharge completely until the laptop shuts down.
- Recharge it to 100% without interruption.
