I plan to upgrade my RAM but I am not sure what is the maximum capacity of the RAM for the HP Pavilion Gaming 15-ec1xxx. I read in some site that it only has 8gb max. capacity. I tried to find the model in the HP manuals but it only has 15-ec0xxx, 15-ec2xxx (are they in the same series?), 15-dk000, 15-csxxxx so I am not sure if they have the same maximum capacity of RAM. 

Just want to make sure before I buy my RAM.

Your notebook has two memory slots and can support up to 2 x 16 GB of DDR4-3200 CL22 memory.

 

See chapter 1 of the service manual for the memory upgrade information:
