Just started running into this issue recently.  My computer has been frequently running into memory errors in the last week or so. It started out with error-50 PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA, now the error seems to consistently be error 0x1A MEMORY_MANAGEMENT. This seems to happen whenever I'm multitasking, and especially if it's been unplugged from the power source. I've tried to dig into the issue but can't track down where it stems from.

I have:

ran Windows Memory Diagnostic, came up with no error

ran chkdsk, came up with no error

updated BIOS and drivers

turned off overclocking

checked the event logs and nothing seems to indicate the issue right before it happens

It does feel like part of my computer is running hot, but nothing indicates overheating. I've been hesitant to physically check the ram and ssd, as I'm not super technically inclined.

Another issue, I've tried to make a claim with Asurion, I went through the whole process, and it claimed that my laptop was still covered under warranty. I've done the HP check, but it says it's expired although the dates are from before I purchased the device. Is there any way to get that updated?

HI @tikitoka,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I understand how frustrating repeated MEMORY_MANAGEMENT (0x1A) and PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA blue screen errors can be, especially when they occur during multitasking or while running on battery power.

These errors are commonly related to memory, storage, corrupted system files, or drivers that become unstable during power-state changes.

Try the following steps:

  1. Disable Fast Startup:

    • Go to Control Panel > Power Options > Choose what the power buttons do.

    • Select Change settings that are currently unavailable and uncheck Turn on fast startup.

    • This helps rule out issues caused by corrupted hibernation data.

  2. Repair Windows system files:

Open Command Prompt as Administrator and run:

DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth sfc /scannow

  • These commands repair corrupted Windows files that can trigger BSODs.
  1. Update HP drivers:

    • Reinstall or update the chipset and graphics drivers from the Official HP® Support, as driver issues can sometimes cause crashes when switching between AC power and battery.

  2. Run HP Hardware Diagnostics:

Warranty Date Issue

If your HP warranty shows an incorrect purchase date, you can submit a warranty dispute through the Official HP® Warranty Check - United States | HP® Support by selecting the option to validate or dispute the warranty and providing proof of purchase.

If the hardware tests report any failure IDs, please share them here so we can help you determine the next steps.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a great day!

I'm an HP Employee.
