HP Pavilion i7 9th gen NVIDIA GTX 1650

Whenever I play the game, I encounter an Error message that "Driver Crashed please check your driver and update it".

I have tried updating and launching again but it's still the same, the game will crash mid-game.

Hi @HarishOP2U,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

Experiencing driver crashes during gaming can be frustrating, but there are several steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the issue. Here's a step-by-step guide.

  • Update Graphics Drivers: Ensure that your graphics drivers are up to date. Visit the official website of your graphics card manufacturer (NVIDIA, AMD, or Intel) and download the latest drivers for your specific GPU model. Install the drivers and restart your computer.
  • Check for Windows Updates: Make sure your operating system is up to date. Install any pending Windows updates as these updates may include important system and driver updates.
  • Adjust Graphics Settings: Open the game settings and try lowering the graphics settings. Sometimes, high settings can put too much strain on the graphics card, leading to crashes.
  • Monitor GPU Temperature: Overheating can also cause crashes. Download a tool like MSI Afterburner or HWMonitor to monitor your GPU temperature. If it's running too hot, consider improving your laptop's cooling, cleaning the vents, or using a cooling pad.
  • Check for Game Updates: Ensure that the game you're playing is updated to the latest version. Developers often release patches and updates to address compatibility issues and bugs.
  • Disable Overclocking: If you've overclocked your GPU, revert it to its default clock speeds. Overclocking can sometimes lead to instability and crashes.
  • Verify Game Files: Some game files may be corrupted. If you're using a platform like Steam, you can verify the integrity of the game files. Right-click on the game in your library, go to Properties > Local Files, and click on "Verify Integrity of Game Files."
  • Check for Conflicting Software: Some background applications may interfere with the game. Make sure there are no conflicting programs running in the background. Disable unnecessary startup programs using the Task Manager.
  • Run the Game in Compatibility Mode: Right-click on the game executable file, go to Properties > Compatibility, and try running the game in compatibility mode for an earlier version of Windows.
  • Perform a Clean Graphics Driver Installation: Uninstall your graphics drivers using a tool like Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU), and then reinstall the latest drivers from scratch.
  • Check Event Viewer for Errors: Open the Event Viewer on your computer and check for any critical errors or warnings around the time of the crashes. This may provide more information about what's causing the issue.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
