HP Pavilion Gaming Laptop 16-a0045nr
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My HP Pavillion gamimg laptop keeps shutting down and gives me 2 error messages. One is " Page fault in non-paged area and the other is " Non-HP Battery detected. This is a brand new Laptop mind you.

I'd like to help!

 

Try the below steps to resolve the error -

 

  • 1. Go to Start, search for Device Manager, and open this result.
  • 2. Expand batteries.
  • 3. Right-click on the ACPI option (usually the 2nd option) and select delete or uninstall. Follow the prompts.
  • 4. Shut down the computer. 
  • 5. Disconnect the charger.
  • 6. Remove the battery.
  • 7. Hold down the power button for 1 minute.
  • 8. Insert the battery only.
  • 9. Attempt to turn the battery on.

Well I hate to say it but in the middle of a task it AGAIN shut down.

Try the below suggestions -

 

Step 1 Windows Updates -

1) In the search box, type and open Windows Updates.

2) Check for updates.

3) If the updates are available, click on install and restart the computer.

 

Step 2 HP Support Assistant Updates -

1) In the search box, type and open HP Support Assistant.

2) Check for updates.

3) If the updates are available, click on install and restart the computer.

 

Also, try updating the BIOS. Refer to this document for steps - HP Consumer Notebook PCs - Updating the BIOS (Basic Input Output System)
