Hi @Gufran000,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

The issue you're describing suggests a problem with your battery or charging system. Here are a few steps you can take to diagnose and possibly fix the problem.

Check the Battery Health:

  • Open the HP Support Assistant (if installed) or download and install it from the HP website.
  • Run a battery check to see if it identifies any issues with the battery.

Battery Reset:

  • Perform a hard reset of the battery. This often resolves issues caused by a temporary malfunction.
  • Turn off the laptop, unplug the charger, and remove the battery (if it's removable). Press and hold the power button for 15-20 seconds. Reinsert the battery, plug in the charger, and turn on the laptop.

BIOS Update:

  • Sometimes, battery issues can be resolved with a BIOS update. Ensure your BIOS is up to date by visiting the HP Support website and searching for your laptop model to download the latest BIOS update.

Check Charger and Ports:

  • Ensure the charger and charging port are not damaged. Try using a different compatible charger if possible to see if the issue persists.

Windows Power Settings:

  • Check your power settings in Windows. Go to Settings > System > Power & sleep > Additional power settings. Make sure your power plan is set correctly and not restricting battery charging.

Battery Calibration:

  • Calibrate your battery. This process involves fully charging the battery, then discharging it completely, and then charging it again without interruption. Some laptops have a built-in calibration tool accessible through the BIOS or HP Support Assistant.

HP Diagnostics Tool:

  • Run the HP Diagnostics Tool (F2 at startup) to perform a thorough check of your hardware, including the battery and power system.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
