The problem started a few days ago, the computer would go into sleep mode randomly for a few seconds then turn back on again on its own. But now it has gone into sleep mode and won't turn back on. What do I do?

@OnurIsik, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your Victus 16 goes into sleep on it's own!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

This issue could be caused by several factors, including power settings, overheating, or hardware failures. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try:

Perform a Hard Reset

  1. Unplug the charger.
  2. Press and hold the power button for 30-40 seconds.
  3. Plug the charger back in and try turning the laptop on.

Check for Overheating

  • If your laptop overheats, it may enter sleep mode as a protective measure.
  • Let it cool down for a while before attempting to turn it on.

Reset Power Settings

If it turns back on, check the power settings:

  1. Open Control PanelPower Options.
  2. Select Change plan settings next to the active plan.
  3. Click Change advanced power settings → Expand Sleep settings.
  4. Set Allow wake timers to Disable.
  5. Click Apply and OK.

Update Drivers & BIOS

  • Go to HP Support Assistant or HP’s official website to check for BIOS and chipset driver updates.

Run HP Diagnostics

If the issue persists, perform a hardware scan:

  1. Turn off the laptop.
  2. Press and hold the Esc key, then press the Power button.
  3. Select F2 for diagnostics and run a full system check.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
