Is throttlestop working (or BIOS lock)? Any Chance to get undervolt in Omen Hub or to deactivate CPU boost? In balanced Mode 90 C throught setting CPU to 90% max energy useage any other setting (Performance or Unleashed) is running up to 105 C constantly. Any fix without repaste?

@Dk2304, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding Managing High Temperatures on HP Omen Gaming Laptops!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Your HP Omen laptop is designed to balance performance and temperature effectively. However, it seems like your laptop is reaching high temperatures, and you're looking for solutions like undervolting to address this issue. Here are some options and considerations:

Undervolting with OMEN Gaming Hub:

  • OMEN Gaming Hub supports undervolting features, and it can help reduce the heat of your notebook computer by changing CPU power consumption. However, keep in mind that undervolting might cause system instability, and exceeding the maximum allowable core voltage can crash the computer.
  • By default, undervolting is turned off. You can try this feature at your own risk by enabling it through the OMEN Gaming Hub.

Performance and Power Control:

  • Use the OMEN Gaming Hub to adjust performance settings. You have options like Performance Mode, Balanced Mode, and Extreme Mode. Performance Mode allocates power dynamically between the CPU and GPU, which can lead to increased heat and noise levels.
  • You might want to switch to Balanced Mode or ECO Mode to reduce CPU utilization and therefore temperature.

Disable CPU Boost:

  • Disabling features like Intel Turbo Boost and NVIDIA Dynamic Boost in the OMEN Gaming Hub can help in managing temperature levels by reducing CPU and GPU performance.

General Cooling Tips:

  • Ensure your laptop is placed on a hard surface, not soft surfaces like carpets or beds, to prevent blocking the fan air inlet.
  • Monitor and adjust the room temperature to aid in your laptop’s cooling performance.
  • Clean the fan periodically to ensure proper airflow.

Restart and BIOS Reset:

  • If any changes cause system instability, pressing the power button for 10 seconds can reset the Embedded Controller, which might help bring stability.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
