Hi @Prarik,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like you're experiencing multiple issues with your HP computer, including problems with the F2 and F12 keys, autopilot mode turning on and off automatically, and brightness adjustments. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot these issues.

F2 and F12 Keys Not Working

Check Function Lock (Fn Lock):

  • Ensure that the Fn (Function) lock key is not enabled. This key is often found on the top row of your keyboard and may need to be toggled to use the F2 and F12 keys as standard function keys.

Update Keyboard Drivers:

  • Go to Device Manager and update your keyboard drivers.
  • Right-click on Start > Device Manager > Keyboards > right-click on your keyboard device and select "Update driver".

BIOS/UEFI Settings:

  • Restart your computer and enter the BIOS/UEFI setup by pressing Esc, F2, F10, or Del (the exact key depends on your HP model).
  • Check if the function key behavior can be modified in the BIOS/UEFI settings.

Autopilot Mode Turning On and Off Automatically

  1. Windows Settings:
    • Go to Settings > Devices > AutoPlay and ensure that AutoPlay settings are configured correctly.
  2. Update Drivers:
    • Ensure all your device drivers are up to date, especially for any connected peripherals that might trigger AutoPlay.
  3. Check Connected Devices:
    • Disconnect all external devices (e.g., USB drives, external hard drives) and see if the issue persists. If it stops, reconnect them one by one to identify the problematic device.

Brightness Adjustment Issues

Adjust Brightness Manually:

  • Go to Settings > System > Display and manually adjust the brightness slider.

Update Graphics Drivers:

  • Ensure your graphics drivers are up to date.
  • Go to Device Manager > Display adapters > right-click on your graphics device and select "Update driver".

Power Plan Settings:

  • Go to Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Power Options > Change plan settings > Change advanced power settings.
  • Expand Display and ensure that the brightness settings are configured correctly.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
