Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello. 

My hp laptop 15s windows 10 (64 bit) does not turn on directly as I press the power button. It displays the startup menu. I've done the test it shows that the smart test passes and hdd dst test failed. I haven't used this device much just some college paperwork and storage is being used to store my data. I've had this laptop for 3 years now and it's still in the new condition. What must have caused the hdd test to fail. Do I have to change the hdd aur is it fine to do something like removing some files. Also, the fan works continuously mostly fast then slow but it runs nonstop and sometimes the laptop gets heated. 

Help would be appreciated. 

I'm not much of a techno savvy person but I have a lenevo laptop which is 6 year old and still using it the same as this hp one it never gave me such headache. I don't know whats wrong with this new hp one.
