@Jinu4455Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding Omen gaming laptop!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

It sounds like you're experiencing serious FPS drops and overall performance issues with your OMEN 16.1-inch Gaming Laptop (16-b1000 series) despite using original games from official sources. Let's go through some troubleshooting steps to improve performance and pinpoint the cause.

Basic Checks

Check CPU/GPU Usage: Open Task Manager (Ctrl + Shift + Esc) and look at CPU, GPU, and RAM usage while playing.
Ensure the Laptop is Plugged In: Some laptops throttle performance when running on battery.
Turn on Performance Mode:

  • Open OMEN Gaming Hub > Performance Control > Set to Performance Mode.
  • Go to Windows Power Settings > Choose High-Performance Mode.

Graphics and Game Settings

Update Graphics Drivers:

  • NVIDIA: Use GeForce Experience
  • Intel Integrated Graphics: Update from Intel's website or Windows Update.

Check if Games Are Using the Right GPU:

  • Open NVIDIA Control Panel > Manage 3D Settings > Program Settings > Select the game and ensure it uses the High-performance NVIDIA processor.

Lower Graphics Settings:

  • Try lowering shadows, reflections, anti-aliasing, and ray tracing.
  • Set FPS limit to 144 FPS or 120 FPS instead of uncapped.

Disable Background Apps:

  • Close Discord overlay, GeForce overlay, Xbox Game Bar, Chrome, etc.

System Health and Cooling

Check CPU & GPU Temperatures:

  • Use HWMonitor or OMEN Gaming Hub to check temperatures.
  • If above 85-90°C, clean dust from vents and consider a cooling pad.

Update BIOS & Chipset Drivers:

  • Check for BIOS updates in OMEN Gaming Hub or HP Support Assistant.

Run Windows Updates:

  • Open Settings > Update & Security > Check for updates.

Check for Malware/Viruses:

  • Run a scan with Windows Defender or Malwarebytes.

Try a few more steps:

Check SSD Storage:

  • If your SSD is nearly full, games may lag. Keep at least 20% free space.

Reinstall the Game:

  • Sometimes corrupted files cause FPS drops. Try reinstalling the game.

Try an Older GPU Driver:

  • If performance dropped after an update, roll back to an earlier stable driver.

Let me know if it helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
