OMEN 16.1 inch Gaming Laptop PC 16-b0000 (2W6B0AV)

My keyboard backlight stopped working intermittently. It again works when Omen Gaming Hub is reinstalled and system is restarted. But then the issue re-occurs again and again. Each time Omen Gaming Hub has to be reinstalled and system restarted. I have bought this laptop in March 2022 and this is issue is occurring since last 2 or 3 weeks.

Hi @ChandraPoranki,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It seems like you're experiencing a recurring issue with the keyboard backlight on your OMEN gaming laptop, where it stops working intermittently, and you need to reinstall the OMEN Gaming Hub and restart your system to resolve it temporarily. This can be frustrating, but there are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially fix the problem.

  • Update OMEN Gaming Hub: Make sure that you have the latest version of the OMEN Gaming Hub installed. Sometimes, updates can address known issues and improve compatibility.
  • Update Graphics Drivers: Outdated or incompatible graphics drivers can sometimes cause issues with the backlight and other features. Ensure that your graphics drivers are up to date. You can often find the latest drivers on the OMEN website or through Windows Update.
  • Check for Windows Updates: Make sure your operating system is up to date by installing the latest Windows updates. Sometimes, these updates include bug fixes and compatibility improvements.
  • Power Options: Check your laptop's power settings. Some power-saving features can affect keyboard backlighting. You can adjust these settings in the Windows Control Panel.
  • BIOS Update: It's also worth checking if there is a BIOS update available for your laptop. Sometimes, BIOS updates can improve hardware compatibility.
  • Driver Conflicts: Occasionally, conflicts between software and drivers can cause problems. Try disabling any third-party keyboard or lighting software you might have installed and see if the issue persists.

Before proceeding with any of these steps, make sure to back up your important data and create a restore point on your laptop. This way, you can easily recover your system to a previous state if needed.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
