Hi @Ayaancse,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you are trying to replace the fan in your HP Pavilion 15.6 Inch Gaming Laptop PC 15-Ec2000 (2P6B5AV) can help resolve the fan noise issue.
Here's a step-by-step guide to assist you in replacing the fan:
Tools Required
- Phillips screwdriver
- Plastic pry tools
- Anti-static wrist strap (optional, but recommended)
Steps to Replace the Fan
Power Off and Unplug: Shut down your laptop and unplug it from any power source.
Remove the Battery: If your model has a removable battery, remove it. If not, proceed to the next step.
Disassemble the Laptop:
- Remove the screws on the bottom cover of the laptop. Keep track of where each screw belongs.
- Use a plastic pry tool to gently pry open the bottom cover. Be careful not to damage any clips or connectors.
Locate the Fan:
- Once the bottom cover is removed, locate the fan. It will be connected to the motherboard and attached to the heat sink.
Disconnect the Fan:
- Disconnect the fan's power connector from the motherboard.
- Remove the screws securing the fan to the laptop.
Remove the Fan:
- Carefully lift the fan out of the laptop. If it is attached to the heat sink, you may need to remove the heat sink as well. In that case, you will need to reapply the thermal paste when reassembling.
Install the New Fan:
- Place the new fan in the same position as the old one.
- Secure it with screws.
- Reconnect the fan's power connector to the motherboard.
Reassemble the Laptop:
- If you removed the heat sink, clean the old thermal paste off the CPU and heat sink with isopropyl alcohol and apply a new layer of thermal paste.
- Reattach the heat sink if it is removed.
- Carefully place the bottom cover back on and secure it with screws.
- Reinstall the battery if it is removed.
Power On:
- Turn on your laptop to ensure the new fan is working properly and the noise issue is resolved.
