@Karrevignesh, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding Laptop Overheating and Not Powering On After Black Screen!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

It sounds like your HP Omen 16 overheated, which may have caused a system crash or potential hardware failure. Here’s what you can do to troubleshoot:

Perform a Hard Reset

Since your laptop is not turning on, try a hard reset:

  1. Unplug the charger and disconnect any external devices.
  2. Press and hold the power button for 30 seconds.
  3. Release the button, then reconnect the charger and try turning it on.

Check for Power Indicators

  • If the power button LED does not light up, your battery or power supply might be faulty.
  • If the keyboard backlight or charging LED lights up, but the screen remains black, it could be a display issue.

Reset the Internal Battery (If Applicable)

Some HP Omen models have a pinhole reset button:

  1. Look for a small reset hole near the vents or the bottom panel.
  2. Use a paperclip to press and hold it for 5-10 seconds.
  3. Try turning the laptop on again.

\Check for Overheating & Cooling Issues

Since overheating caused the issue:

  • Let the laptop cool down completely before trying to turn it on again.
  • Clean the vents and fans using compressed air to remove dust.
  • If you frequently experience overheating, consider repasting the CPU/GPU with thermal paste or using a cooling pad.

Boot with External Display Again

  • Try reconnecting the HDMI cable to an external monitor or TV.
  • If the display works on an external screen, your internal screen may be faulty or the display cable might be loose.

Check for Beep Codes or Blink Patterns

When you try to turn it on, do you hear any beeps or see blinking LED lights?

  • A series of beeps or blinks indicates a hardware issue.
  • Note the pattern and check HP’s beep code guide for troubleshooting.

Remove and Reinsert RAM & Battery (Advanced Step)

If the laptop still doesn’t power on, try:

  1. Removing the battery (if removable) and holding the power button for 30 seconds.
  2. Reseating the RAM sticks and checking for loose connections.

Let me know if you need further assistance!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
