Hi @Developer14,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds frustrating to deal with frequent hangs on your HP Victus laptop. Here are some steps you can try to troubleshoot the issue.

Check for Overheating:

  • Ensure the laptop is well-ventilated and not overheating. Overheating can cause the system to hang. Clean any dust from the vents if needed.

Update Drivers:

  • Even if you haven't made recent updates, outdated drivers can cause instability. Go to Device Manager and update your graphics, chipset, and other critical drivers.

Run a System Scan:

  • Use Windows Security or a trusted antivirus program to perform a full system scan for malware or viruses.

Check for System Updates:

  • Sometimes, Windows updates can resolve underlying issues. Go to Settings > Update & Security and check for updates.

Check for Resource-Intensive Applications:

  • Open Task Manager (Ctrl + Shift + Esc) and check if any applications are consuming excessive CPU, memory, or disk resources.

Run a Memory Check:

  • Use the Windows Memory Diagnostic tool to check for memory issues. Search for "Windows Memory Diagnostic" in the Start menu and follow the instructions.

Check the Hard Drive Health:

  • Run a disk check to ensure your hard drive or SSD is not failing. Open Command Prompt as an administrator and run chkdsk /f and follow the prompts.

Perform a Clean Boot:

  • Boot your laptop with minimal startup programs to determine if a background process is causing the issue. Search for "msconfig" in the Start menu, go to the "Services" tab, check "Hide all Microsoft services," and click "Disable all." Then, go to the "Startup" tab and click "Open Task Manager" to disable all startup items. Restart your laptop to see if the problem persists.

Check Event Viewer:

  • Look for errors or warnings in the Event Viewer. Search for "Event Viewer" in the Start menu, expand "Windows Logs," and check the "System" and "Application" logs for any critical errors.

Consider a System Restore:

  • If the problem started recently and you have System Restore enabled, you might be able to revert to a previous state when your laptop was working properly.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
