Hi @Kb1304

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your Victus laptop isn't starting up and only the power button lights up, here are some troubleshooting steps you can try:

1. Perform a Hard Reset

  • Disconnect all external devices (USB drives, external monitors, etc.).
  • Remove the power adapter and battery (if it's removable).
  • Press and hold the power button for about 15-20 seconds to discharge any residual power.
  • Reconnect the battery and power adapter, then try turning it on again.

2. Check Power Supply

  • Ensure that your power adapter is functioning properly:
    • Check if the power LED on the adapter is on.
    • If you have access to another compatible power adapter, try using it.

3. Inspect the Display

  • Sometimes, the laptop may be on, but the display isn't working:
    • Try connecting your laptop to an external monitor to see if you get any display.
    • If the external monitor works, the issue may be with your laptop's display or its connection.

4. Check for Beep Codes or LED Indicators

  • If the laptop emits beep codes or has specific LED indicators, refer to the user manual or the manufacturer's website to identify any diagnostic messages.

5. Remove All Peripherals

  • Unplug everything connected to the laptop (mouse, keyboard, external drives) and try starting it up with just the power source connected.

6. Boot into Safe Mode

  • If the laptop turns on but does not boot into Windows:
    • Try accessing Safe Mode by pressing the F11 key repeatedly while the laptop is booting up (or other specific keys depending on your model).
    • If you can access Safe Mode, you can troubleshoot further from there.

7. Let the Laptop Rest

  • If the laptop is overheating, it may fail to boot. Let it sit for about 15-30 minutes before attempting to turn it on again.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
