Hi @Vince0816

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

To perform BIOS recovery on your HP Victus 15 laptop with no display, you’ll need the correct BIOS ROM file that matches your system’s SSID (System Board ID). This ID determines which of the available BIOS updates is compatible.

Since your laptop won’t boot, you can identify the SSID using the product number and match it to the correct BIOS file from HP’s support site.

Step-by-step guide to BIOS USB recovery for HP Victus 15

1. Identify your product number

If you can’t access BIOS or Windows:

  • Look for a label on the bottom of the laptop or inside the battery compartment
  • It should look like: 9R7K5AV or similar
  • Use this to match the correct BIOS file on HP’s support site

2. Find the correct BIOS ROM family SSID

Visit the HP support page for your model:

  • HP Victus 15 BIOS Downloads
  • Download each BIOS update and check the ROM Family SSID in the filename or release notes:
    • For example: spXXXXX.exe may contain 087E, 08A0, or 089C
  • Match the SSID to your product number using HP’s internal mapping (if available)

If you’re unsure, you can try each BIOS file one at a time using the recovery method below.

3. Create a BIOS recovery USB

Use another Windows PC to prepare the recovery drive:

  • Download the BIOS update .exe file
  • Run the file and choose Create Recovery USB
  • Insert a FAT32-formatted USB drive (at least 8GB)
  • Follow prompts to complete creation

4. Perform BIOS recovery on your laptop

  • Power off the laptop
  • Insert the USB recovery drive
  • Press and hold Windows + B, then press and hold the power button for 2–3 seconds
  • Release the power button but keep holding Windows + B for 10 seconds
  • Wait for the BIOS recovery screen to appear (may take up to 40 seconds)

If the screen doesn’t appear, try the next BIOS file with a different SSID.

Let me know your exact product number or if you need help checking the SSID from the BIOS files. Once the correct recovery file is loaded, your laptop should begin restoring BIOS and return to normal boot behavior.
