@Blockchaincpt, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding the Recovery Key!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

If you need to retrieve your BitLocker recovery key for an HP PC, you can follow these steps:

Retrieve the Recovery Key from Your Microsoft Account

Sign in to Microsoft Recovery Key Page

  • Use another computer or mobile device to go to Microsoft Recovery Key page.
  • Select "Sign in to your Microsoft account" and follow the on-screen instructions to log in.

Identify Your Device

  • If you have multiple computers, match the Device Name with the one facing encryption issues to identify the correct recovery key.

Other Options to Retrieve Your Recovery Key

Cloud Domain Account: If your device is connected to a domain, contact your system administrator for assistance in locating your recovery key.

USB Flash Drive: If you saved your recovery key to a USB flash drive, insert it into a USB port and follow the on-screen prompts. You might need to open the text file (.txt) stored on the drive from another device.

Local File or Printed Copy: Check for a text (.txt) file on a non-encrypted drive or a printed copy of the recovery key stored securely.

Azure Active Directory Account: If you used a work or school email with Azure AD, the recovery key might be saved in the associated account.

Access Another Microsoft Account: Try signing in to another Microsoft account with administrator privileges to unlock the computer.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
