Need to Upgrade to a Better Graphics Card than Intel HD Graphics 5500

I just downloaded and installed the video editing program, Blackmagic Design's "DaVinci Resolve". The first time start up of this program popped up a warning that my graphics card may not be up to speed with the program.

The Device Manager showd Intel HD Graphics 5500 and Intel Core i3-5020U at 2.20GHz. Is the HD Graphics 5500 the graphics card the program referred to? Or is it another graphics card. If it is the graphics card the program referred to then what graphics card do I need to handle Davinci Resolve's video editing work?

And, for a WAG answer, (Wild Ass Guess), will I need need more than 6GB RAM for the progtram DaVinci Resolve?

You might  regret having bought an entry level model.

The Intel HD 5500 is a video solution that is on the CPU chip. It is not an discrete video adapter that can be remoed or replaced.

In order to upgrade the video for your notebook, you would have to replace the system board with very specific part numbers and also the heatsink assembly.

The discrete graphics are on the systemboards and would be either the NVIDIA N16S-GT (GeForce 940M)) chip or the  (AMD R7M M3602 (Meso-XT)) chip which are integrated onto the systemboard.

I agree with your comment on the entry level laptop.  What laptops do you recommend for video editing software?

I will look for laptops with the NVIDIA N16S-GT (GeForce 940M)) chip or the  (AMD R7M M3602 (Meso-XT)) hopefully in laptops under $2,000. Are there other chip sets I can look for? 

I don't plan on using anything more expensive than my LG V10 smartphone camera with video editing software like the Blackmagic Design's DaVinci Resolve. I presume that software is too powerfall for my "entry level" HP laptop. But that program blew my socks off (install file size over 300Mbytes) on top of the fact that it is now "free!" One of the HP Gaming notebooks  should be great for video editing software. They start priced at $899 and have discrete graphics. Check out the available options.

The Omen 15, which I currently have as a product loan from HP would be a great video editing notebook.

Both of those notebooks are delivered with 8GB of installed memory, but you should consider having 16 GB for video editing.
