Hello, so the problem i have is that i recently got a new laptop (Hp omen 16-ap0800no) and i want a second charger so i don't always have to unplug it at home when using it somewhere else. I am not sure which charger i should buy or if my old charger would work (havent tried it because scared that something would go wrong).

old charger OUTPUT 19.5V 10.3A 200W
new charger (to the laptop i want a second charger for) OUTPUT 19.5V 11.8A 230W

@VicoDK, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding a new charger for Omen!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

When selecting a charger for your HP Omen 16-ap0800no, it's crucial to ensure that it matches the laptop's power requirements to avoid potential damage or performance issues. Your new laptop's charger has an output of 19.5V and 11.8A, providing 230W of power, which means it is designed to support the high-performance needs of the HP Omen 16-ap0800no.

Your old charger, with an output of 19.5V and 10.3A at 200W, appears to provide less power than the charger designed for your current laptop. Using a charger that provides less power might not damage your laptop, but it can lead to insufficient power delivery, possibly hindering performance or causing the battery to charge slower or not at all when the laptop is being used heavily.

For the best experience and to ensure your laptop operates properly, it is recommended to purchase a second charger that matches the specifications of your current charger provided by HP for the HP Omen 16-ap0800no (i.e., 19.5V, 11.8A, 230W).

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!

so something like
HP ZBook 230 W Slim Smart 4,5 mm AC-strømadapter (6E6M1AA)
would work?

HP Recommended

@VicoDK, Yes, the HP ZBook 230W Slim Smart AC Adapter (6E6M1AA) would work since it matches the required 230W specification for your HP Omen 16-ap0800no.

That said, this is considered a commercial HP product, so for accurate ordering and compatibility confirmation, we recommend that you reach out directly to HP Commercial Support Services. They’ll be able to guide you on purchasing the correct adapter and ensure it’s officially supported for your region.
