Hi @Zhoople,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding PC's fan curve!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
Hey! It looks like you're having trouble finding the fan curve option in the Omen Gaming Hub. Normally, you should be able to set the fan curve for better control of the laptop's cooling and noise levels, but sometimes the option might not be as obvious.
Here are some steps to help you set up the fan curve or manage fan settings effectively:
1. Update Omen Gaming Hub and BIOS
First, ensure that both your Omen Gaming Hub and BIOS are updated to the latest versions, as newer versions might enable more control features.
- Update Omen Gaming Hub via the app or Microsoft Store.
- Update BIOS by going to the HP Support Website for your specific laptop model.
2. Check the Fan Control Settings
- Open Omen Gaming Hub and ensure you are logged in.
- On the Home tab, you should be able to see various performance options (like Echo, Standard, Turbo).
- If you don't see a Fan Curve option, check under the “Thermals” section or any other section that might mention "Cooling" or "Performance".
- If the option is available, you should be able to switch to "Advanced" mode and get more control over the fan speed and curve.
3. Try Enabling "Advanced Mode"
- If you're in a basic setting, switch to Advanced Mode in the Thermals tab to unlock more detailed fan controls.
- If the fan curve option still isn’t visible, it could be that your specific laptop model doesn't support fan curve adjustments directly through Omen Gaming Hub.
4. Alternative Software:
If Omen Gaming Hub doesn’t provide full fan curve control, you could use third-party software like SpeedFan or HWMonitor (though these are usually for desktops) to control fan speeds. However, SpeedFan may not support laptops as well as desktops.
5. Check for OEM Restrictions:
Some laptops may have limited fan curve control, depending on the manufacturer and model. If your laptop doesn’t support fan curve adjustments in Omen Gaming Hub, it could be an OEM limitation.
6. Set Power Modes for Quiet Operation:
In the meantime, using the Echo or Standard modes might help you balance noise and cooling until you can get the fan settings to your liking.
Let me know if you still have trouble finding it or if the steps work out for you! 😊
