When i originally got the pc, HP Omen gaming hub had perfomance mode, i usually play league of legends and it sad pretty at around 120 fps on medium settings.
I decided to reinstall win11 with my own media becuase the one it came with was filled with ads, and McAffe and other **bleep** i really didn't need nor want.

But after i reinstalled my pc, the performance mode dissapered. I've tried updating drivers, updating windows, fidget with Bios, cmd commands. I feel like i tried everything.

The biggest problem is, now on standard mode, it runs between 30-50 fps. HUGE Decrease from the previous 120 fps. Please help.

@DodoMan146, Welcome to the HP Support Community – it’s great to have you here!

I appreciate you taking the time to share your question. I'm more than happy to assist with this and provide a solution that works for you.

I understand how frustrating it is to lose Performance Mode in OMEN Gaming Hub after a clean Windows reinstall especially when your FPS drops from 120 to 30–50 in games like League of Legends. Let’s walk through the steps to restore it.

Ensure OMEN Gaming Hub is Fully Updated

  • Open Microsoft Store.
  • Search for OMEN Gaming Hub.
  • Click Update (or Install if missing).
  • Alternatively, download it from Official HP® Support

Run OMEN Gaming Hub as Administrator

  • Right-click the OMEN Gaming Hub shortcut.
  • Select PropertiesCompatibility tab.
  • Check Run this program as administrator → Apply → OK.
  • Launch the app again.

Install OMEN SDK and HP System Event Utility

These are required for full functionality:

  • Go to Official HP® Support
  • Enter your laptop’s serial number or model.
  • Download and install:
    • OMEN SDK Package
    • HP System Event Utility
    • Chipset Drivers
    • BIOS Update

Set Windows Power Plan to Best Performance

  • Click battery icon in taskbar.
  • Slide to Best Performance.
  • Or go to Settings → System → Power & Battery → Power Mode.

Plug in Original HP Charger

Performance Mode may only activate when:

  • Laptop is plugged in.
  • Using the original HP 200W adapter.
  • Wait 1–2 minutes after plugging in, then reopen OMEN Hub.

Reinstall OMEN Gaming Hub (Clean Install)

  • Go to Settings → Apps → Installed Apps.
  • Find OMEN Gaming Hub → Click Uninstall.
  • Restart your laptop.

Optional: Use HP Cloud Recovery Tool

If nothing works, restore factory image:

Additional Tips

  • Check NVIDIA Control Panel → Manage 3D Settings → Set preferred GPU to NVIDIA RTX.
  • Enable Game Mode: Settings → Gaming → Game Mode → Toggle ON.

I tried all of this. Still no performance mode, BUT My fps is around 100 now, so something worked.

Not a total solution, but still helped the fps A LOT

@DodoMan146, Thanks for the update! I'm glad to hear your FPS improved significantly, getting back to ~100 FPS is a solid recovery, even if Performance Mode itself hasn’t returned yet.

Here are a few additional suggestions that might help fully restore Performance Mode in OMEN Gaming Hub:

Advanced Fixes to Try

1. Check for HP OEM Services in Windows Services

Sometimes, HP background services required for OMEN Hub features don’t get installed with a clean Windows setup.

  • Press Win + R, type services.msc, and hit Enter.
  • Look for:
    • HP Omen HSA Service
    • HP System Info HSA Service
    • HP App Helper HSA Service
  • If missing, reinstall HP Software Framework and HP System Event Utility from your model’s driver page.

2. Registry Fix (Advanced Users Only)

Some users have restored Performance Mode by tweaking registry keys related to OMEN Hub.

⚠️ Backup your registry first before making changes.

  • Press Win + R, type regedit, and go to:HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\HP\OMENCommandCenter
  • Look for keys like PerformanceModeAvailable and set value to 1.
  • Restart your PC and check OMEN Hub again.

3. HP Support Assistant Recovery

4. BIOS Reset to Defaults

Even if you’ve already checked BIOS:

  • Enter BIOS (Esc or F10 at boot).
  • Select Restore Defaults or Load Optimized Defaults.
  • Save and exit.

Why Performance Mode Might Still Be Missing

  • Clean Windows installs often skip HP-specific services and firmware flags.
  • OEM recovery image includes hidden triggers for OMEN Hub features.
  • Performance Mode may be tied to HP’s factory power profiles and firmware.

I hope this helps!

Take care and have a great day.
