My laptop battery model sr03xl was swollen so i searched for a new one but couldn't find the exact model, however i did find an SR04XL. After installing the battery, the laptop keeps goving me a "non hp battery detected" whenever it boots up. How can i resolve this

Its specs

It uses  3-cell, 52.5 Wh Li-ion  part # L08855-856 which is available from HP

Probably you get  SR04XL from other source therefore you machine won't be able to work out therefore it says "non hp battery detected" You have 2 options now

  1. Buy the right battery,
  2. Keep the SR04XL battery and live with that message for a few years and hope it won't cause damage your machine.

Regards.
