I am about to upgrade my ram to 16GB, however after running a scan test on the crucial website. It told me I could upgrade it to 32 Gb. Whereas on amazon it said I could only upgrade to 16GB ram. I'm confused about which website is telling the truth. Whether I should go for 24GB OR 16GB.

Hey, Thank you for your reply, one last thing. Can I do ram mixing? my first slot ram is of 8Gb of Samsung. Now can I buy a 16Gb ram of crucial and make it a total of 24Gb? Or is it necessary to detach my existing ram of 8Gb and buy 2 new 16 GB ram of crucial?

Hello @Shourya123

RAM from the same manufacturer should always be used.

Buy 2x 16 GB ( Crucial ) like I wrote before and you're are happy.

Good luck

Hello @Shourya123

Sorry to hear that you are having problems ... I would like to help you.

Ask your motherboard what it can handle...

(1) Launch the Windows command prompt and execute below command
wmic memphysical get maxcapacity

Divide the result by 1024 and again by 1024

or

divide result by 1048576

You will get GB (Gigabytes)

(2) Please report your results

Hey the result is 32.
