OMEN by HP 15-dc1018ca

OMEN 15 SDK error stating its reporting an error and to resolve this, the skd needs to update.
I want to make it very clear this has been updated so many times its not even funny. I have gone through previous threads regarding this and none of the remedy has worked. This is an older laptop(i know) but it still works and still games real nice.

Hi @fespicha

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.

Since you've already updated the OMEN SDK multiple times without success, let's focus on specific troubleshooting steps that have worked for others.

Manually Reinstall the OMEN SDK Package

  • Uninstall OMEN Gaming Hub from Settings > Apps > Installed Apps.
  • Download the latest OMEN SDK package from HP’s official site here.
  • Install the package and restart your laptop.

Check for Windows Updates & HP Software Components

  • Go to Settings > Windows Update and install all pending updates.
  • Ensure HP Inc. - SoftwareComponent updates are installed (these often contain fixes for OMEN Gaming Hub).

Delete Old SDK Log Files

  • Navigate to C:\System.sav\Logs\ and delete OMENCC_SDK_Pack.log.
  • Restart your laptop and try launching OMEN Gaming Hub again.

Allow OMEN SDK Through Antivirus

  • Some users have fixed this by adding an exception for the OMEN SDK folder in their antivirus settings.
  • If you use Windows Defender, go to Virus & Threat Protection > Manage Settings > Add or Remove Exclusions and add the OMEN SDK folder.

Reset OMEN Gaming Hub

  • Open Settings > Apps > Installed Apps.
  • Find OMEN Gaming Hub, click Advanced Options, then select Reset.
  • Restart your laptop and check if the error persists.

Since your OMEN 15 is still gaming well, it’s worth getting this fixed rather than giving up on it. Let me know if any of these steps help!
