Let's try a few more steps that should ensure a resolution is found:
First, download the Synaptics driver on the link below and save it to your Downloads folder: Synaptics Driver Version 17.0.18.8
Turn off your wireless card ( should be f12 ).
Open windows control panel, open Programs and Features, right click the current Synaptics driver and select Uninstall.
When complete, restart the notebook.
When windows has reloaded, open your Downloads folder and run the Synaptics installer - when this has completed, restart the notebook again.
Open the Synaptics settings panel, disable SmartSense or PalmCheck and then check if the touchpad will now work with a keyboard key held down.
If it does, turn your wireless card back on and use the utility on the following link to prevent Windows 10 from automatically updating the Synaptics driver: https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/kb/3073930
Also try these steps,
In Windows, search for and open Control Panel.
In Control Panel, click Ease of Access.
Figure : Ease of Access
In the Ease of Access Center, click Make the keyboard easier to use.
Figure : Ease of Access Center
Uncheck the option for Turn on Mouse Keys, and then click OK.
If the issue persists, please try the below steps:
- Type WIN+R and start "regedit" (or simply use the Windows Search and type regedit).
- Confirm that you're an admin (a window may pop up).
- Navigate to KEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Synaptics\SynTP\Install
- Change DeleteUserSettingsOnUpgrade from 1 to 0
- Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Synaptics\SynTPCpl
- Change RestoreAllDefaults from 1 to 0
- Now you can change the ClickPad-Settings (of course, they will not be deleted after a restart, and you can change them as many times as you want to)
Let me know how it goes.
To thank me for my efforts to help you, please mark my post as an accepted solution so that it benefits several others.
Cheers.
