OMEN by HP 16.1 inch Gaming Laptop PC 16-wd000 (7B9S2AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

Hello everyone,

I am experiencing a frustrating issue on my OMEN 16 laptop where both the Manual Boost and Cleaner buttons inside the OMEN Gaming Hub Optimizer tab are completely unresponsive. Clicking them does absolutely nothing—there are no errors, no animations, and no drop in RAM usage.

I have already spent the last two days deeply troubleshooting this and have attempted the following steps without any success:

* Complete Clean Reinstallation: Uninstalled both the OMEN Gaming Hub app and the HP OMEN SDK package, cleared the %localappdata% cache folders, and reinstalled fresh from the Microsoft Store.

* Service Verification: Confirmed that the HP CASL Framework Service, HP Omen HSA Service, and HP System Info HSA Service are all running and set to Automatic.

* Manual Execution: Located SystemOptimizer.exe inside C:\Program Files\HP\SystemOptimizer and manually executed it as an Administrator.

* App Permissions: Verified in Windows Settings that background apps, diagnostics, and storage permissions are enabled for the OMEN Hub, and attempted the Windows "Repair" and "Reset" functions.

Despite all of this, the UI buttons remain completely dead. It appears there is a deep communication breakdown between the current Microsoft Store app version and the background optimizer engine on the OMEN 16 series.

Please tell me how to fix this broken software bug or what specific step forces the current version of the Hub to communicate with the system optimizer engine on this laptop model.

Thank you for the solution!Screenshot 2026-10-01 181808.pngScreenshot 2026-10-01 181825.png

I had the same problem and nothing worked.  I saw this old post on reddit and tried it out as a last effort and it worked.

Go to task scheduler and find system optimiser. For me there were 5 files with similar names and two had triggers set at on event - log.

Select them go to properties -> triggers - > edit - > set begin the task at log on.

These types of factory-installed apps can cause issues like this, so don’t stress about it. Other users have reported the same issue. You should use only the HP OMEN Gaming Hub to manage power plans and fan settings instead.

I suggest avoiding “manual boost”, as it usually do not make a noticeable difference. Instead, enable Microsoft new Xbox Mode and run your games from it. It should provide the same or better results without unnecessary background software or processes.

Please check the link below for instructions:

(You don't need any controller, you can use Xbox mode perfectly fine with keyboard and mouse)

Thanks for the reply but, I totally disagree with the statement "do not make a noticeable difference".

The difference is  Day and Night like  60% ram is used at idle but after 'manually boosting' it gets around  20-25% , indeed it helps ram usage while gaming. and i already tried the xbox before posting into community but it didnt work as omen gaming hub do and its been 2 years using omen gaming hub and its in my habit due to all in one place, the cleaner will be compromised but manual boost dont.

i need to fixed.

if you have any fix please reply.

also thanks again Mr_RadhaTech for replying

Try uninstalling HP Omen Gaming Hub, then reinstall it from the Microsoft Store. If that doesn’t work, uninstall it again and this time reinstall it from your laptop’s driver page on the HP support website.
