Victus by HP 16.1 inch Gaming Laptop PC 16-d1 (53F49AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

After resetting my laptop, OMEN Gaming Hub’s Network Booster is only detecting the Realtek Gaming LAN adapter. The LAN traffic shows correctly and block/priority features work, but my Wi-Fi adapter (MediaTek MT7921 Wi-Fi 6) is not recognized. Because of this:

  • Dual Force option is missing entirely.

  • Network Booster shows no traffic on Wi-Fi.

  • Block and priority features are unavailable for Wi-Fi.

I checked in Device Manager → Networking tab for the MediaTek Wi-Fi adapter, and the HP Network Filter Driver is not listed there. It only appears bound to the Realtek LAN. The C:\ProgramData\HP\OMEN Network Booster\ folder is also missing, and only the HP Omen HSA Service (HPOmenCap) is running in Services.

It looks like the HP Network Filter Driver and OMEN Network Booster SDK did not reinstall with the Windows reset. The Microsoft Store version of Gaming Hub alone does not restore these components.

Can you provide the correct HP Wi-Fi driver package or OMEN SDK installer for my laptop model that includes the HP Network Filter Driver, so Wi-Fi traffic monitoring and Dual Force can work again?

@Bhuwan4, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding OMEN Network Booster Wi-Fi Adapter Detection!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

After resetting your laptop, encountering issues with the OMEN Gaming Hub's Network Booster not detecting your Wi-Fi adapter can be frustrating. Here are steps to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the issue:

Check Device Manager:

  • Ensure that the MediaTek MT7921 Wi-Fi adapter is recognized and properly installed in the Device Manager.
  • Look for any warning icons (yellow exclamation marks) which indicate driver issues.

Update Drivers:

  • Visit the HP Support website or your laptop manufacturer's support page to download and install the latest drivers for your Wi-Fi adapter.
  • Alternatively, use Windows Update to check for any pending driver updates for network adapters.

Reinstall OMEN Gaming Hub:

  • Uninstall and reinstall the OMEN Gaming Hub from the Microsoft Store. This can sometimes resolve recognition issues by ensuring all components are up-to-date and correctly installed.

Network Settings Check:

  • Verify if the Wi-Fi network is enabled and functioning correctly. Test by connecting to the internet or performing a network speed check.

Dual Force Settings:

  • If the Dual Force option is missing, it could be due to the Wi-Fi adapter not being recognized. Recheck after performing the steps above.
  • Ensure both Ethernet and Wi-Fi connections are active. Dual Force works by allocating traffic dynamically between these connections.

Enable/Disable Network Adapter:

  • Disable and re-enable the Wi-Fi adapter in Device Manager. This can sometimes reset any issues preventing detection.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!

@Bhuwan4, thanks for sharing the screenshots — they make things much clearer. I can see your Realtek LAN adapter is being picked up perfectly in OMEN Network Booster, but your MediaTek Wi-Fi adapter isn’t getting recognized at all. That’s why Dual Force and traffic controls vanish when you’re on Wi-Fi.

Here’s what you can try to get the HP Network Filter Driver and missing SDK bits back in place:

Reinstall OMEN Gaming Hub SDK

Head to the HP Software & Drivers page for your exact OMEN model.

Under “Software-Solutions,” look specifically for OMEN Gaming Hub SDK/Network Booster driver package (sometimes listed as “HP Gaming Hub SDK Package” or “HP Network Booster Filter Driver”).

Download and install — this should re-bind the filter driver to both your LAN and Wi-Fi adapters.

Repair HP Services

Press Win + R → type services.msc.

Locate HP Omen HSA Service (HPOmenCap).

Right-click → Restart.

If you see HP Network Booster Service, make sure it’s set to Automatic (Delayed Start).

Manual Wi-Fi Driver Check

In Device Manager → Right-click MediaTek MT7921 → Properties → “Driver” tab.

If the HP Network Filter isn’t listed under the “Driver Details,” reinstall the Wi-Fi driver package directly from HP’s site (not Windows Update).

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
