OMEN by HP - 17-an108nc
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello guys. I would like to ask you for some help with my issues.I am on W10 1803.

1.) Today I have found at Device Manager that one driver is missing (ROOT\SYSTEM\0001) which should be HP 3D DriveGuard. I have downloaded latest driver 7.0.1.1 Rev.A and tried to install it normally but without any result. So I tried installing it via device manager (online search & directory search) but same result). Maybe it would be nice from HP to update this driver so we might use it on 1803 (or 1809 that should be in Win Update soon).

2.) HP Omen Command Center - few weeks ago Command Center button stopped to work. I can run Command Center with mouse click but not with pressing keyboard key. All latest drivers are installed (HP System Event Utility, OMEN Command Center SDK, latest BIOS F.06 Rev.A etc.). Also, if I remember correctly, there was an option at keyboard backlight intensity which is not available anymore.

THank you for your help.

Welcome to HP Support Forums. A really great platform for posting all your questions and finding solutions.

I have gone through your Post and I would like to help

May I know since when are you facing this issue

Please download and run the HP Support Assistant from this Link: https://www8.hp.com/us/en/campaigns/hpsupportassistant/hpsupport.html?jumpid=va_r602_us/en/any/psg/p...

HPSA will automatically search for all the latest drivers for your computer

  1. Click My devices in the top menu, and then click Updates in the My PC or My notebook pane.

Click Updates in the My notebook pane

  2. Click Check for updates and messages to scan for new updates.

Updates list in HP Support Center

  3. Review the list of updates. Updates with a yellow information icon are recommended. Updates with a blue information icon are optional.

  4. Click the update name for a description, version number, and file size.

  5. Select the box next to any updates you want to install, and then click Download and install.

Also ensure Windows is up to date

Select the Start  button, and then go to Settings  > Update & security  > Windows Update , and select Check for updates. If Windows Update says your device is up to date, you have all the updates that are currently available.

Let me know how it goes

Thank you 😊

Thx for your reply. But like I said in my post, all of my drivers are up to date. Also, every Windows 10 update has been installed. I am not sure since when this Omen Command Center button doesn't work, but if I could guess it might be since it has been updated via Store.

And about driver, it has not been listed in Device manager since 29.10. - from 27. till 30.10. only Windows Defender definitions have been installed thru Windows Update so I don't think they messed with that driver.

Maybe you might ask HP to release proper HP 3D DriveGuard (HP ProtectSmart Hard Drive Protection) driver as the last one is still for 1709. Thank you.

Check if you have any restore points prior to the start of this issue and we can try a System Restore

- Select the Start button, type control panel and then choose it from the list of results.
- Search Control Panel for Recovery.
- Select Recovery > Open System Restore > Next.
- Choose the restore point prior to the updates and then select Next > Finish.

Keep me posted

Thank you again for reply, Unfortunately, since Windows 7 I always disable System restore (everyday work and hours of work so I wouldn't really use it).

It really would be nice to release driver for 1803 (1809) and not for 1709 tho.

At this point we could try a System Reset. Please follow the instructions in this Link: https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c04742289

Thank you
