Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello,

The sound of my laptop won't stop going up and down (but the volume button stays at the same value) at random when i'm listening music and it's a bit annoying.
I went through different topics and i found one with a similar problem, and the solution was to install that driver ( https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/HP-Pavilion-15-Notebook-PC-series/10862158/model/11991509/docum... ) which didn't solve anything. I also tried the latest driver, but still the same problem.
Is there a solution? I just bought this computer and i can't keep up with that.

Hi KrulesS,

This sounds like it might be an issue with Windows and the Realtek audio drivers, rather than your laptop.

First, have you tried troubleshooting? You can do this by right-clicking the speaker icon in the toolbar > select 'Troubleshoot sound problems'.

If this doesn't help to resolve the problem then you might want to try rolling back the update through the 'Device Manager'. Press the Windows key (on your keyboard) and the letter X  > Select 'Device Manager' > Scroll down to 'Sound, video and game controllers' > Right-click the 'Realtek High Definition Audio' > Select 'Properties' > Click on 'Roll Back Driver'.

If this option is greyed out, then try the 'Update Driver Software' option as you already have the original version of the driver.

You can also try reinstalling the driver entirely by clicking on 'Uninstall driver' then click 'Scan for hardware changes' under the 'Action' tab in the Device Manager.

I hope this helps reslove your issues.

Hi, thank you for your answer.
I tried all 3 of your solutions but the problem is still here (maybe less frequent ? but most of the time, the sound seems muffled).

Does someone have an idea please ?
