Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have a HP Omen 15 laptop, model 15-en0016AX, Product ID 1L1B1PA#ABG, all of a sudden it is no longer booting up after starting, then freezing after about 5 minutes of running - was on Windows 11

Initially I thought it was the HDD, so I have installed/replaced that and loaded the original copy of Windows 10, it was then booting, and I was in the process of starting to load the default drivers following the initial install Windows update, so it seemed logical that it was the HDD that was faulty.  I also took the opportunity to update the BIOS to version F.24 as per the HP driver updates as I was getting an error of 502, then 500 from the original BIOS with the disk changeover

Now when I power up the laptop, the screen gets power (goes from black to illuminated black), fans run etc, but nothing more than a black screen and no loading into windows or the Omen splash screen logo on boot.

I can by pressing F10 get into the BIOS menu from boot, but that's it, when I exit to boot, nothing further happens....

Any insight or advice is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Hello, @JayKay12

You’re dealing with a frustrating issue. Here are some steps you can try to resolve the problem with your HP Omen 15 laptop:

BIOS Settings
Access BIOS: Since you can enter the BIOS menu by pressing F10, try resetting the BIOS settings to default.
Save and Exit: Save the changes and exit the BIOS. This can sometimes resolve boot issues caused by incorrect BIOS settings.
2. BIOS Recovery
BIOS Recovery Key Combination: Try using the BIOS recovery key combination (Windows key + B or Windows key + V) while powering on the laptop. This can initiate a BIOS recovery process see here: https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Operating-System-and-Recovery/OMEN-15-black-screen-after-bios....

3. Clear TPM
Clear TPM: If your BIOS has a TPM (Trusted Platform Module) option, try clearing it. This can sometimes resolve issues related to BIOS updates see here: https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Gaming-Notebooks/Black-screen-after-bios-F-16-update-HP-Omen-15-en0023....

4. Check Hardware Connections
Reseat Components: Ensure that all internal components, such as RAM and the new HDD, are properly seated. Loose connections can cause boot issues.

5. External Devices
Disconnect External Devices: Unplug any external devices (USB drives, external hard drives, etc.) that might interfere with the boot process.

I hope this info is helpful to you.

Best Regard,
Gregory Chavez
