Anyone have an update on this?
I've had an Omen 16 for less than a week and noticed the exact issue specified here after about two days. Sometimes the touchpad will function fine for hours and other times it cuts out after only a couple minutes. I believe the BIOS is up to date but will try HP's online support in the next couple days if I don't find a solution in the meantime.

If it's been less than a week, maybe contact support right away so you can return the machine if it isn't fixed, assuming you're within the return window? That way, you have a few days to make sure the problem doesn't recur, assuming they can fix it temporarily.
Btw, after HP support fiddled with BIOS, I had one more problem, used FN-F12 (or whatever) to turn the trackpad off then on, and have had no problem for several days since then. But I'm not exactly sure what they guy did. I assumed it was implementing an update that had gotten hung up, but I'm not sure.

Just got off chat with HP support. They came right out and told me it's a hardware issue and that I could send it in for service or return it to place of purchase. I'm going to do the latter. It's too bad. I really like this computer, but I'm a little afraid to get another Omen.

Still waiting to see if they can fix mine. At this point, it's been with HP for a few weeks and they haven't fixed it yet (or perhaps didn't even start). Starting to regret going with HP. This is a new laptop and an expensive one at that. If this is the HP quality control, who knows what else will fail.

I am having the same issue here with my HP OMEN X 16-b0005dx. It's been doing fine for a while after catching this up with all updates, until recently I started having the same issue, and I had this for little over a week now. I also press the F11 button to turn the mousepad off and back on just to make it work again, and now it's becoming more frequent... Why isn't HP Support responding to this type of issue? I didn't spend thousands of dollars just for a new piece of laptop to go haywire on me! Anyone know what kind of issue is causing this?
