My OMEN is 5 months old and I just realize that when my battery reach 100% and I unplugged it goes from 100 to 94, what can I do?

Hi @fabs1902,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It's not uncommon for laptops to experience a slight drop in battery percentage immediately after unplugging from the AC adapter. This is often due to the power required for the laptop to transition from being charged to running on battery power. However, a drop from 100% to 94% might be considered a bit on the higher side.
Here are some general tips to help you optimize your laptop's battery performance.
- Calibrate your battery: Occasionally calibrating your laptop battery can help it maintain accurate readings. To do this, charge your laptop to 100%, then use it on battery power until it automatically shuts down. Afterward, plug it in and charge it back to 100%.
- Update your BIOS/UEFI: Ensure that your laptop's BIOS/UEFI is up to date. HP often releases updates that can improve battery performance and address other issues.
- Check background applications: Make sure there are no unnecessary applications running in the background. Some applications may consume power even when the laptop is idle.
- Power settings: Adjust your power settings to optimize battery life. On Windows, you can access power settings by right-clicking on the battery icon in the taskbar and selecting "Power Options." Choose a power plan that is optimized for battery life.
- Reduce screen brightness: Lowering the brightness of your screen can significantly impact battery life. Consider adjusting the brightness to a level that is comfortable for you.
- Disable unnecessary peripherals: Disconnect external devices such as USB drives, printers, or other peripherals when not in use.
- Check for background processes: Open the task manager to see if any processes or applications are using a significant amount of CPU resources. Close unnecessary applications to conserve battery power.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
