My Omen 17t-an100 laptop shut off suddenly while in use and will no longer power on. When the power button is pressed, the light next to the power cord port turns on and the light on the power button turns on for 4-5 seconds and off for 1-2 seconds in a repeating pattern. There is no other evidence of power- the screen stays off, there is no noise from any of the components powering on, etc.
I tested the power adapter with a multimeter and it seems to be working still. I have been using the laptop without the battery because I’ve gone through two official HP batteries that have lasted for less than a year each. I got a third new battery now, and the power button does not turn on or blink at all with the battery in, unless the power cord is also plugged in.
I have also tried removing the hard drive and reconnecting.
I don’t see any evidence of a short or any other component failure so I am looking to troubleshoot what might have happened as the laptop is out of warranty.
Thanks!
