I just received my laptop (it was ready-to-ship) Omen Max 16 with Ryzen AI and RTX 5070
"OMEN MAX Gaming Laptop 16-ak0047nr "
Says my memory is 5600MT/s but when I checked with CPU-Z, my memory (DRAM Frequency) is only running at 1000Mhz which means it's only running at DDR5 2000MT/s. So my DDR5 5600 that I purchased for can only operate at DDR5 2000?
This is ridiculously slow.
I can't find anywhere that allow me to change memory settings.
Please help! I really would love my laptop memory running at full speed.
Thank you.
Or maybe I should start an exchange process?

@Railshot, Welcome to HP Support Community,
Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue
Congrats on your new Omen Max 16! I understand the frustration, especially when you're eager to unlock the full performance potential of your DDR5 5600 memory. Let's try to resolve the issue by going through a few troubleshooting steps.
Check Windows Power Plan
Sometimes, power plans can affect how memory operates. Make sure your power settings are optimized for performance.
Right-click on the battery icon in the taskbar and select Power Options.
Select the High Performance power plan. If it’s not available, click Show additional plans.
Set the system to High Performance to ensure that the memory and CPU are running at their full potential.
Update BIOS
Go to the HP support page for your model: HP Support.
Check for any BIOS updates under the "Driver & Software" section.
Download and follow the instructions to update the BIOS if there’s a newer version available.
Check Task Manager for Actual Speed
To double-check the memory speed, you can also open Task Manager in Windows:
Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager.
Go to the Performance tab.
Select Memory from the left sidebar.
You’ll see the speed listed on the right side.
I hope this helps.
Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.
Take care and have a good day.
