Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My Laptop battery has not been charging completely for the past 1 month, during this quarantine time I have been gaming on this a lot (playing only Dota 2), i even tried to factory reset without loosing documents saved in it, it didn't help. This September my laptop will turn 3 years old. Kindly help, because now my laptop charges only upto 65%.

Also, some times it abruptly shutdowns even though there's more than 15% battery.

Kindly help

Hello,

When you boot the system, press F10 several times

BIOS menu will open

Look for "Battery Care Function " in the tab "System Configuration" and check it is set to 100 %

Or maybe you don't have the same BIOS menu as me and you don't have this option...

I did the BIOS menu as you said, the Battery care function was set at 100%.

BTW, when its plugged in, after it reaches 65% it shows plugged in, there is no charging shown at that percentage level, below it yes it is shown. Is that something to be worried about?

On a side note, is Discord bad for battery life? It's an software i installed after which this issue began i use to voice chat with my friends when i game. Now I have uninstalled it.

Thanks

I never heard discord was bad for battery life

Are your battery and AC adapter drivers up to date ?

Check in the device manager, and in hp support assistant

HP Recommended

Yeah the drivers are up to date.

I tried to check components by pressing F2 on booting, I did a Battery check and i got this code [Battery - Failed - 9BXPW1-8G4A4N-MFPUQJ-C0B203] I didn't understand that. What does this mean?

You can also perform a battery Check:

Open HP Support Assistant. Click on My PC, and then click Tools and Diagnostics. Click HP Battery Check to start the test

You can also perform a test at the system boot :

Press esc key several times, then go to System diagnostic, and run  Battery Test

(sorry I didn't see your previous reply)

I'm afraid I don't know what this means, but I think you should contact HP directly to report them this error code, as it may be important to solve your problem.
