Omen gaming laptop, I cant type and use the touch pad at the same time

Hence for a gaming laptop, it is required to be able to use both at once but still, I can't use both.  I've searched quite a lot though nothing has worked so far even by turning the touchpad sensitivity to low it does nothing.. and changing it to max does nothing either.

Have you tried checking with an external keyboard and mouse?

Why do you need to use the keyboard and touchpad at once?

If you are playing a game and if it needs touchpad and keyboard used at the same time. Try the steps recommended below.

If your PC came with a Synaptics Touchpad, try to:

1. Go to the Control Panel (large icon view) then > click Mouse > Device Settings tab > Settings. Under the Synaptics Settings, go to Pointing > Sensitivity > Palmcheck and set the palm sensitivity to minimum and test the game.

Go to the key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Synaptics\SynTP\Defaults

Change the value of the first 3 string entries of PalmKms to 0.

If you have an ELAN touchpad, try to:

2. Adjust the PalmTracking option under Additional Tab on the ELAN Smart Pad settings to the minimum and observe.

If the problem remains, consider removing the Touchpad driver under Control Panel (large icon view) > Programs and reboot. Windows will now use the generic Touchpad driver. Try the game and observe.

Also, try making few Registry changes on the PC.

Go to the key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Synaptics\SynTP\Defaults

I recommend creating a backup of your registry if you not comfortable making changes.

 Try updating the BIOS, touchpad and chipset driver on the PC to the latest version.

You can try updating the drivers using the HP support assistant.
