Have a Omen laptop (fairly new - 2020). Have had no issues. Windows updated a few days ago and the update also updated windows to 11. Ran fine for a day and a half. another update came through and after that would not boot up. Blue recovery screen with error 0xc0000185 - a required device isn't connected or can't be accessed. I figured reinstalling windows 10 was best bet. I have successfully done it on a Dell with Win 8.1. However, on the Omen it is not working. After trying the install a couple times I am now getting a message about the operating system did not shutdown cleanly/Reconstructing Cache Metadata./Please do not interrupt this process. What do I need to do to fix this?

Hello @Margaretmmb
Sorry to hear that you are having problems ...
To help you I need to know the product number (p/n) of your computer!
You will find this information on the back/rear of your computer printed in small alphanumeric letters.
The product number (p/n) is legally allowed information, just about the computer model, no sensitive data.
It is allowed to post in public, no problem.

Your notebook model is not fully tested and HP certified for Windows 11 !
There are no software and drivers available for Windows 11
(1) Please use HP Cloud Recovery to reinstall your system with windows 10
Use another Windows computer (of a friend/neighbor) to be able to create the USB stick for your computer.
(2) Use different usb flash drives (usb 2.0, usb 3.0) to test
(3) Safeley remove the drive before use

(4) HP Business PCs - Using the HP Cloud Recovery Client in Windows 11 and Windows 10

(5) Please report your results

I was able to chat with a microsoft rep. Through that, I redownloaded win 10 using the 32 bit instead of the 64. It did start to load, however after seversl minutes I received an error stop code driver pnp watchdog. Is there anything I can do to fix this? I researched this error but all the solutions were for computers that you could access windows.
