Hello everyone, i recently purchased an hp omen max 16, its a very good laptop overall, a gorgeous design and very good specs and performance, the only thing that gets me a little worried are the temps, speccially the CPU temps, i thought that the core Ultra series worked cooler than the Intel Core processors, but the pc works between 50-60C° in not demmanding tasks and while gaming it works between 85-95 and even reaching 100°C in some occasions, i have heard some people just say that those processors are by default that hot while others say that it is an issue with this particular model, some youtubers and people have even shown a poor thermal paste application in the components so im a little bit confused about it, based on that i have a couple of Questions:
1. What are the recommended temps of CPU and GPU while working and gaming, and how do i know if the pc is thermal throttling?
2. How do i know if the issue is covered by the warranty? for example, how bad it has to be to actually had to be repaired
3. Im considering applying liquid metal in the CPU and GPU to improve the temps, does it void the warranty? and is it recommended?
4. Does Hp have certified particular technicians that can adress the issue without all the warranty process?

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.
The HP Omen Max 16 is designed to handle demanding tasks and gaming, which can push the temperatures of the CPU and GPU higher due to intense usage. Here are some guidelines to help you manage and monitor the temperature effectively:
Ideal Operating Temperatures:
Idle or Light Use: Ideally, the temperatures should range between 40°C and 60°C for light tasks. However, reaching 50°C to 60°C during non-demanding tasks is within an acceptable range for powerful gaming laptops like the HP Omen Max 16.
Gaming or Heavy Tasks: During gaming or intensive tasks, you might see the CPU temperatures reaching between 85°C and 95°C. While these temperatures are high, they are generally safe for short periods as laptops are designed to handle such thermal outputs.
Tips to Manage and Optimize Temperatures:
Ensure Proper Ventilation:
- Keep the laptop on a hard, flat surface to allow heat to dissipate.
- Make sure none of the ventilation grills are blocked.
Utilize Built-in Cooling Features:
- Use Omen Gaming Hub to adjust your fan settings. You can set the fans to a higher speed to improve cooling during intense sessions.
Regular Cleaning:
- If the laptop collects too much dust over time, it can lead to higher temperatures. Periodically clean the air vents and fan to maintain optimal airflow.
Cooling Pads:
- Consider using an external cooling pad to provide additional cooling support when gaming or performing resource-intensive tasks.
Software Updates:
- Ensure all drivers and BIOS are updated. Manufacturers often release updates to optimize power usage and heat management.
Monitor with Software:
- Use monitoring tools to keep an eye on temperatures. If you repeatedly hit 100°C, it would be wise to adjust your gaming settings or check external factors affecting the cooling.
