OMEN 16.1 inch Gaming Laptop PC 16-c0000 (2W4Q0AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

I just unboxed my new HP Omen gaming laptop.  Much to my chagrin, when I plug my 2-port USB-C KVM switch into the USB-C port on the left side of the laptop, the video output is fine, but it doesn't detect my wired keyboard and mouse connected to the switch.

My Dell laptop works fine, but remove the USB-C connector from the Dell and plug it into the HP, KB and Mouse cease to function.

Any ideas?  I absolutely must be able to use the laptop on the KVM.

I have been using a 2-port USB-C KVM to switch between my desktop and my work Dell laptop.  The only connection to my laptop has been the USB-C and power; video, mouse and keyboard go through the switch.

I just unboxed by new HP Omni laptop, unplugged the USB-C from the Dell and plugged it into the HP.  Video output is fine, but the mouse and keyboard connected to the switch are not recognized.

Any ideas how to resolve?  I have to be able to use the laptop via KVM.
