Hi @packersfan036,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for reaching out and sharing the detailed information about your Victus by HP 15.6-inch Gaming Laptop (15-fa2000). We’re glad to hear that you ran the UEFI diagnostic and checked the thermals and fan performance. It’s also great that you were able to identify the root cause, thermal paste quality and resolve the heating issue successfully.
We appreciate you taking the time to update us with your solution. This will certainly help other Victus users who may face similar concerns. If you continue to notice unusual fan behavior or thermal performance, we recommend:
- Ensuring your system BIOS and drivers are updated via HP Support Assistant.
- Keeping the vents clear and the laptop on a hard, flat surface to allow proper airflow.
- Running periodic UEFI diagnostics to monitor system health.
If the issue reappears or if you need further assistance, please don’t hesitate to contact HP Support for additional guidance.
Thank you again for choosing HP, and happy gaming on your Victus!
Take care and have an amazing day!
