So, recently playing GTA V enhanced edition, I noticed a constant 95-96 degrees Celsius CPU temp, so I decided to reduce my graphics from High with RT to High and then to minimum, but the temps never reduced. I tried the same with other games like Valorant, FragPunk, and Mortal Shell, but the same issue with them, except Mortal Shell was still a bit lower(85-93) than the other 3 games.
My GPU temp stays within the 70-80 range, but my CPU is in a constant 95-96 range.
I first tried cooling my room. I live in Delhi, and it's really hot here, but even when I am freezing, the temperatures are the same.
I have used MSI Afterburner and OMEN gaming hub to monitor my temperature.
My laptop is Victus by HP, CPU is Intel i5-13420H, and GPU is Nvidia RTX 4050, and my device is 4 months old.
I have all the updated drivers and my fans arent showing any malfunction symptoms, as per HP hardware diagnostics.
After checking the advance temps, I found that Core 4 of CPU is getting more hot than the other cores

Hi @CrAzY7314,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your PC!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
Try these steps:
Clean Your Computer:
- Ensure that your computer's internals are clean and free of dust. Dust can block airflow and cause overheating. Use compressed air to clean the fans and heatsinks.
Check Thermal Paste:
- The thermal paste between your CPU and its cooler might be degraded. Consider reapplying fresh thermal paste to ensure efficient heat transfer.
Improve Airflow:
- Check the placement of your computer to ensure it's not in an enclosed space. Ensure good airflow around it and consider adding more case fans or upgrading to better ones.
Monitor Background Processes:
- Make sure that unnecessary background processes and applications are not consuming CPU resources excessively.
Adjust CPU Settings:
- In your BIOS/UEFI settings, check if you can adjust the CPU power settings or enable features like Thermal Throttling to help reduce temperatures.
Use External Cooling Solutions:
- Consider using external cooling pads or adding liquid cooling solutions if possible.
I hope this helps.
