I recently bought the Victus 16 16-r0073cl, and it has started overheating when I put it to sleep, or leave it unattended with the lid closed for an extended period of time. Edit: It's also doing it when the lid is left open. When I've been in the same room, and caught it doing it, the fans will spin up to max, and it's very hot to the touch. Most of the time, I will come back to continue working on my projects, to find it shut itself off, and event viewer says it had an unexpected shutoff.
Anything else I have done, such as gaming, has never caused it. Only when it's gone to sleep.
Does anyone have any idea on how to fix the overheating?

I have the same issue. In sleep mode, my computer is running very hot and the fans appear to be turned off. When it comes out of sleep, the fans go to maximum. I am using an HP docking station and when this happens one of my monitors (connected to USB-c thru the docking station) quits working and the laptop and second monitor are then duplicates of each other. I have to unplug the USB-c and then plug it in again to restore the monitor settings. It also seems to take a little while before the computer can respond swiftly to any key presses. It responds but very slowly.
Is this a setting problem on this computer or is it a bad design and needs to be returned to where I bought it? Mine is the same model.
