Hi @ssnakepliskin,
Thank you for your response,
To connect your Sony adapter to your OMEN 16.1-inch Gaming Laptop, you’ll need a high-quality USB 3.0 or USB 3.1 Type-C cable for data transfer.
However, if you are referring to connecting a DisplayPort 1.4 cable to handle video output (as the PSVR2 uses USB-C for both power and data but might need a dedicated video cable for certain configurations), you would need.
- A USB-C to DisplayPort 1.4 cable that supports the video output from your laptop to the PSVR2 adapter.
Make sure the cable is rated for high-bandwidth 1.4 data transfer to handle VR video at high frame rates and resolutions.
Additionally, ensure your laptop's USB-C port supports DisplayPort Alternate Mode (DP Alt Mode), which is essential for VR setups that require video output.
Since PSVR2 is not officially supported on PC, the connection setup and software support will likely involve using third-party applications like iVRy or Trinus VR for potential functionality.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

Hi @ssnakepliskin,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
The PSVR2 (PlayStation VR2) is primarily designed to work with the PlayStation 5, and Sony has not officially released support or an adapter kit for connecting the PSVR2 to a PC. However, there are potential ways to use the PSVR2 on a PC with limitations, depending on whether third-party software eventually supports it.
Here are the key points to consider for your OMEN by HP 16.1-inch Gaming Laptop PC and the PSVR2.
Cable Requirements:
- The PSVR2 uses a USB-C cable for connection.
- Your OMEN laptop should have a USB-C port, which you can use to physically connect the PSVR2.
Compatibility with PC:
- Native Support: At this time, the PSVR2 does not natively support PC. Even if you connect it, it will not automatically work unless compatible software becomes available.
- Third-Party Software: Keep an eye on VR software platforms (such as Trinus VR or iVRy) that may add support for PSVR2 over time. These tools often require additional setup.
Display Output Considerations:
- The PSVR2 functions as a display device and does not require an HDMI adapter for PC usage since it relies on USB-C for data and video transfer.
Alternative VR Options for PC:
- If your goal is VR gaming on your OMEN laptop, consider alternatives like the Meta Quest 2/3 or Valve Index, which have native PC support and a broader library of games.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
